Story So Far (by in-game day)

Rova 10th, 4719 AR

Session beat 1: Sixth Floor Lecture Hall Within the sixth floor of the Tanessen Tower of Alabaster Academy, the party observed conversations by Scarlet Triad Agents, as well some of their slaves being put to work on lookout. Jegan snuck up behind the two men, and with daggers poking their kidneys instructed them to remain calm, and move over to the stairs down without making a sound. Complying through fear, they did exactly that, ushered over to the other Regulators awaiting them. There the party revealed their intentions, here to free them and others, as well put down this Triad threat. Relieved and excited, the slaves explained that within the lecture hall were three agents, Evna, Adelle, and lead by Ivena, bored and swapping stories. The Regulators all knew they could get the jump on them, giving a tactical advantage in putting down the first of likely many threats within this tower. With the men staying behind, the party flanked the agents through the east and west entrance, large lecture hall has risers descending toward a smaller open floor space against the north wall. There is no furniture in this lecture hall save for a wooden podium and a few crates, adding to the feeling of abandonment. Surprise attacks and chaos the melee was on. Cal sustained heavy damage, while Jegan took a beating or two as well, though overall these three agents did not truly stand a chance against the might of the Regulators. Unfortunately for the Triad agents, they couldn’t escape, nor given the chance to surrender, death was their only ally in the end.

Session beat 2: The Regulators made their way up to the seventh floor of the Tanessen Tower, where they were quickly confronted by Alchemical Golems, during with a patrol of Scarlet Triad Sneaks came down the stairs from the upper floor joining the ongoing battle. Taking much damage from multiple bursts by the golems, the party quickly drank several healing potions before exploring the five closed doors. The first door opened by Kane, the door to the west revealed a classroom converted to sleeping quarters. Bru’shlee opened the door to the north, revealing a latrine room. Cal opened the door to the northwest, revealing three Scarlet Triad Agents preparing themselves for intruders and or battle. Lead by the Alchmist Agent, Tatiana, they were caught flat footed, giving the Regulators the upperhand early. One of the Scarlet Triad Poisoners was swiftly dealt with after a few rounds of combat, where Tatiana was close to ending the life of Kane, before dropping her blades and calling for mercy as she submitted to the intruders, hoping to stay her demise. The other agent flew past all Regulators, trying to make it upstairs, likely to recruit backup. Before that agent to achieve her goals, she was blinded by Voz Lirayne, then grappled by Bru’shlee and shackled with Scarlet Triad Manacles after being drug down to the main area of the seventh floor.

Session beat 3: Seventh Floor, Golem Lab & Interrogation Scouting out the remaining rooms on the seventh floor, the Regulators discovered a lab where the Scarlet Triad was producing Golems, just like the Alchemical ones just encountered. There they found several more Scarlet Triad Slaves, which they sent down to the Lecture Hall on the Sixth Floor to wait things out for safety. While Jegan scoured the Alchemy lab to for additional goodies and supplies, Cal and co were busy extracting information from Tatiana, who valuing her life spilled key information about their Kintargo operations. The Scarlet Traid runs contraband of all kinds including human trafficing throughout the Inner Sea Region, though she’s only apart of their northern expansion operations, and with Kintargo’s government being in termoil with new leadership, it made it quite simple to setup operations. While she did not have insight into the larger goals of the Scarlet Triad, she illuded to their vast network and wealth generation through illicit activities, and enough to get people in power or influence to look the otheer way, though no names were given. The Alchemy lab was her project to make it easier to sedate captives for long transport, produce narcotics, poisons, and elixirs. Lastly, the party learned that her sister is none-other than Vavienne, which she claimed has a thing with Heuberk Thropp, who has a room on the eight floor next to Barushak Il’Varashma, a powerful arcanist and current overseer of operations in Kintargo. Before asending to the eighth floor, Voz sent out a magic flare to warn Mialari’s birdies, which then they noticed Captain Gulbran Cornaro down on the ground several stories below. The Regulators healed their wounds and slowly made their way after locking Tatiana and the lone surviving Scarlet Triad Agent shackled in the Alchemy Laboratory. Eighth Floor, Kintargo Boss & Reinforcements The Regulators make their way quietly up to the eighth floor of Tanessen Tower, and with caution understanding what awaits them. Getting into position with an arched opening to the north that reveals a forty-five-foot-long by twenty-foot-wide corridor, and a ten-foot-wide opening to the west halfway down, and large wooden double-doors on the western wall next to them. A haze drapes the room, seeming to obscure reality. and before the Regulators determine their next step, they hear laughter coming from the dark corridor ahead, where several humanoids are now standing, as if they’re expecting you. A well built towering half-orc stands at the ready with demonic minions wrapped in chains, horribly deformed. Heuberk Thropp stands at his side. Barushak shouts “You insects dared interrupt my work at Sunset Imports? This time there will be no escape!”, finishing his statement with a sly grin. Heuberk Thropp quips out, “Meddlesome adventuring twats, your death will be slow and painful…ah good, you brought Voz with you too.” The Regulators then hear another commotion coming from the east…up from the stairs below appear six Scarlet Triad Agent Reinforcements. The Scarlet Triad Brute taunts the Regulators, “Look at the cornered rats, no escaping now!”, with weapons drawn the trap has been sprung. With the tension peaking, the question for Kane, Bru’shlee, Cal, Jegan, and Voz is how to get out of this horrible situation, and turn the tide in their favor. Seconds go by, barely a noise is made until the arming of Heuberk’s crossbow, no sign of Vavienne though the party suspect she lurks in the shadows ready to pounce. Then, to the west through the large wooden doors, a familiar male voice rings out! “STAND BACK HEROES!” as an explosion rocks the wooden doors, tearing them asunder. There within the smoke, Captain Gulbran Cornaro, his daughter Adélina, Lady Mialari Docur, and their Bellflower Network Agent companion Nolly Peltry. Lady Mialari Docur, resolute and calm tells you all, “Fear not Regulators, we got you covered, deal with Barushak, this ends here and now!”, possibly knowing more than she let on previously, she smashed a glowing blue crystal at your feet, granting each of you Haste for the battle. As they begin to move beyond your position, Adélina says “Time to Regulate!” as her father yells “CHAAAAAAAARGE!“. They engage the reinforcements, allowing the party to focus on Barushak, Heuberk, and very likely Vavienne. The battle ensued, the Regulators focusing down Barushak’s minions, Vavienne indeed striking from the shadows on Cal with several vicious strikes taking him to half-health. Jegan struck with precision, deadly as always. Bru’shlee utilized his Dragon Stance, moving quickly, striking hard. Vavienne didn’t stand much of a chance, she was pummeled, stunned, feared, demoralized, and quickly dispatched. This enraged Heuberk, attacking in a frenzy, inflicting great wounds. Barushak’s demonic minions tormented the Regulators, though they didn’t withstand the punishment given for long. Barushak himself wielded arcane spell and slammed his mace into Cal while barely missing Jegan. Cal drank healing potions, Jegan moved in to focus on Barushak while Bru’shlee was handling Heuberk. The party was taking a lot of damage when down the side corridor came Laria Longroad, and couldn’t have been at a better time, she aided the party with mass healing for multiple rounds, negating much of the damage caused by Heuberk and Barushak, with Vavienne laying lifeless on the ground. After a few rounds of the back and forth, Barushak Il’Varashma was laying on his back, slowed by Voz’s spell, and little options used a Dimension Door spell to fall through the floor, but where he came out was not seen, least not on the eight floor. Heuberk, bloodied and near death, cast Fly on himself, attempting to escape his demise as the sole remaining Triad agent, though Bru’shlee made certain that wouldn’t happen a second time by grabbing his ankle, as Kane hit him with a Shadow Blast and Telekinetic Projectile thanks to being Hasted, Heuberk was defeated. Bru’shlee was focused on the remaining demonic spawns, but the battle was won.
