Haunting of Barzillai’s Remnants
The Remnants of Barzillai appeared before the Regulators, bringing forth additional haunts, unlike any challenge the party faced prior, resisting most of they’re affects, they defeated the apparitions, banishing the haunts, and putting an end to their anguish…for now. The party spread out within the dining hall of the coffeehouse, looking for more clues as to what spawned these tormented spirits. Cal found a pantry that had been rummaged about, primarily foodstuffs stored within, large clay jars of flower stood broken with its contents spilled onto the floor, and many sacks of unroasted coffee beans lay stacked. Within the office beyond the broken door in the back of the hall, a room in shambles, paper strewn about, bloodshed, and a halfling body lay face down. Stairs leading up to another floor above. With the limited light and still potential threats about, the party delayed any additional investigation to move upwards, seeking survivors and or put down any threats.
Rakshasa’s Torments
Making their way upstairs at the ready, they were confronted by two Rakshasas, Zimora & Vikmanther, eager for more bloodshed and torment. These beings are rare, tales of Rakshasa’s shapeshifting abilities were not on display though, catching them somewhat off guard. A deep melevelent voice rings out of the dark, “Say brother, looks like more toys came to play!” as the other responds excitedly,“More blood and torment for us!“. However the Regulators were more than a match for these two interlopers, eventually killing Zimora, and binding Vikmanther through paralyzation and the Scarlet Triad’s own manacles. With the encounter behind them, the party now assesses the situation.
